Imaging Flow Cytometry

Traditional flow cytometry delivers powerful data by harnessing population statistics. Thousands of objects can be analysed every second and characterisations made based on size, complexity and fluorescent signals. Imagery adds morphology but is traditionally done on microscopy based systems which don't process large numbers of cells in the same time frame as a flow cytometer does. Imaging flow cytometry brings the best of these two technologies together and allows researchers to take images of their cells whilst in flow. The result? Up to 5000 cells every second can be imaged and analysed allowing morphology measurements to be combined with the power of population statistics!
