There has been a significant move towards live-cell imaging over the past few years. Whilst there are significant challenges involved when compared to end point imaging the richness of the data acquired makes it worth the effort. The common compromise though has often been do you settle for qualitative analysis with unlabelled cells (confluency measurements) or do you use a nuclear label so that you can achieve quantitative results (cell count, proliferation). Recent advances from BioTek alleviates the need for this comprise. The new High Contrast Brightfield kit allows users to accurately obtain cell counts with non-labelled cells using Brightfield.
